The Objectives of this game are simple:

The Living Fit Game is intended to give you a motivational boost and support to reach your wellness goals! It does not serve as a weight-loss or fitness program. We aim to make it fun for you to lose weight by engaging in a game of social-wellness with your friends and family. And, since we don’t know you personally (and even if we did) we can’t advise you properly on how to lose weight. The objective of the game is to support you in your quest to improve your overall health and wellness by making sensible, sustainable lifestyle changes on a daily basis.

Quick weight loss methods aren’t sufficient to achieve lasting results. Weight loss methods that rely on diet aids like drinks, prepackaged foods, or diet pills don’t work in the long run. Although the Living Fit Game may be a catalyst for changing your habits, the most important changes are long term. No matter how much (or little) weight you have to lose, modest goals and a slow course will increase your chances of both losing the weight and keeping it off. Don’t do dumb things to lose weight!

This is a game of Social Wellness:

Note that we may recommend certain approaches and products from time to time on our site and in our emails but you should consult a professional before acting on our advice. Everything that we suggest is optional. Each individual must assess the best choices for themselves. Certain exercises are better for some and not appropriate for others ~ as are food choices. Make your personal decisions wisely and you will ultimately benefit from leading a clean, living fit lifestyle!

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Parsnips do not appear on the food list because they are very starchy and do not fit the program when eaten directly. However, in a stock, they are fantastic, Two thumbs up!

Again, remember to breathe, everything is going to all right.

Yes, it is true, you do get bonuses for sharing and commenting on Facebook (FB), however all is not lost if you are not currently a member or do not know how to operate the social network.

You have several options, any one of which will more than suffice:

Email your responses, photos or comments to us here @HQ and we will post them for you (because thats the kind of people we are!)

Sign up for a facebook account, its FREE,  easy and fast. Then you can post as often as you like! Over 1 billion others can’t be wrong!

If you are already a FB member and are experiencing ‘technical difficulties’ around how to post or comment, send us an email @HQ and we will walk you through the process.

Still want another way?

Ask anyone under the age of 13, they’ll know what to do!

Firstly, DON’T PANIC! Everything is going to be ok, we promise.

Out of the 5 daily meals, if you getting your ’2 fists’ of veggies with at least 2-3 meals, then you are still in line to get ALL of your points for the day!

If your are on the 3 meals and 2 mini-meals regimen then you still need the equivalent of 2-3 meals of veggies. So if you missed one full meal the you will need a ‘fist’ of the good stuff with EACH mini-meal.

It is the vegetable quota that will really have one of the biggest impacts on your overall health and, if your are looking for it, weight loss.

The game has been set up for teams of 2-6, on the premise that is is the best blend of team atmosphere with just enough personal accountability.

However, we want to include everyone who is READY to start making the healthy changes that their life needs.

If you have a larger group than 6 – let’s break the group up into two teams. That will add more excitement to the game!

As far as the plan is concerned the answer is YES.

The goal here is to get off your butt and get MOVING! Anyway you can!

It does has to be 30 mins of elevated heart rate everyday, so yoga, power-walking, zoomba, anything!

If you have not been training for a while:

Make sure you are healthy enough to handle exercise by consulting your doctor

Then, if your Doc says YES, start slowly to prevent injury and try walking everyday.

A well balanced exercise program will include:

  • cardio-vascular conditioning,
  • strength training
  • flexibility training
  • balance training

Having said that, if you are counting a vigorous game of bar darts as your exercise….we need to talk.

Why yes you can!

In most cases a meal plan laid out by one of the “Big Names” is a healthy way to eat so you won’t need to change plans. You will need to meet ALL of your current plan’s criteria to get your food points for the week!

It is our goal that your food plan is made up of real, whole foods ~ not packaged, overly processed, frozen or pre-made ~ however, we do have to be realistic here. We are all busy people and taking a little help from the supermarket, local caterer, or food service provider is acceptable to be realistic.

However, in the interests of keeping the fairness of the game you will need to disclose the plan and have us @HQ ‘approve’ the meal plan BEFORE you can compete.

Just drop us an email and join in the Fun!

Currently approved meal plans include:

  • Jenny Craig
  • 5 Squares
  • The Fresh Diet

These are not perfect options ~ you will need to supplement with fresh vegetables to meet the vegetable / fruit quota for the day. But, if this type of food service makes it doable for you to stay on a plan with your busy life – got for it!

The great part about the Living Fit Game is that just by participating YOU WIN!

You will be a healthier you and that TRULY IS A PRIZE WORTH HAVING!

Yes! You should continue to take all supplements as usual in addition to any medication that your doctor has prescribed.

Remember, this is NOT a restrictive diet program, but is a HEALTHY LIVING program.

Side effects of a HEALTHY LIVING program often include but are not limited to:

  • Increased levels of energy
  • Improved mood
  • Bigger smiles
  • Maintenance of a healthy weight (weight loss for many and weight gain for some)

Green drinks and juices are great for targeted periods of weight loss. However, they are not a part of this program because when you are juicing you are discarding most of the fiber.

We encourage a healthy, sustainable and balanced approach to nutrition and as such recommend eating the “whole food” for maximum benefit. A full fruit / vegetable smoothie is a better choice for the purposes of this game.

In a word, no.

However you do have (3) chances to enjoy a glass of wine, or a favorite indulgence of almost any kind.

Each week you have 3 meals off of all the rules – eat, drink, enjoy!

Just remember, this is a game that should be fun AND have a healthy benefit, so just control the cravings…..as much as you can.

When we are getting our 6-8 hours of sleep each night, then that means we are awake for 16-18 hours.

The meals should ideally be staged throughout the day, so optimally there will be no less than 2.5 hours and no more than 3 hours between them.

This strategy is to keep your blood sugar stable and a happier, more energetic YOU!
