Note to self:

You can …

Believe you can

and you’re halfway there.

Believe you can and you are halfway there … right, that’s what they say? Sometimes I find that I am intellectually and not always emotionally prepared to move forward. A part of me lives in fear and disbelief and a part of me has courage and belief in myself. My challenge is to pull these two pieces closer together and add a little more weight to the side of belief.

It’s important to keep a running log of all our successes ~ a Success Journal! This journal will serve as evidence of our abilities and triumphs so that when we are questioning our belief, we can remind ourself of all our accomplishments, big and small. To believe you can is a self-supporting skill that can be learned and practiced. When we become intimately familiar with our inner-critic and learn to diffuse the negative self-talk, we can practice believing in ourself. When you do a self-assessment and tune into your strengths and weaknesses, remember that each attribute has a flip side and it’s all about perspective. Sometimes I am told that I am stubborn, which sounds negative and judgmental. And, when I hear that, I think of determination, focus, and commitment to what I believe in … it’s a perspective.

Enlist one of your BFFs’ to help you reframe your negative self-talk, they will see you much more clearly that you will during a doubtful moment or mood. It’s really important to develop a positive self-image and healthy vision of your Living Fit Lifestyle. What are you doing? Who are you with? What type of self-supporting activities do you enjoy with your friends? How do you spend your quiet time to support your positive self-image?
