Your Challenge Today:
Start Fresh … concentrate on the present moment.
By Bernadette Kathryn, LMT, IHLC
Do not dwell in the past,
do not dream of the future,
concentrate the mind on the present moment.
~ Buddha
Here we are again with that dance we have to do from time to time, the tango with our past, present, and future … This challenge is the dance that involves a very delicate interaction between balancing our past experiences, our current reality and our desires for our future. We must concentrate the majority of our energy on the present moment, it’s all we have, and if we are so busy worrying about what happened in our past or what’s going to happen in our future, we will thoroughly miss the gift of right now.
And then, there is the reality of all the yesterdays and what they bring to the party as well as what’s next. I want to remind us all to enjoy this moment and all of its gifts while we take the time to plan for our future. Enjoy the sun or rain, the noise of the kids, the traffic, the hustle of work, the quiet of a day off and the pleasure of our friends and family or the sadness of a loss. It’s all part of our particular story, and we are here to celebrate all the gifts of our life.
Today is a good day for a good day! Start fresh with whatever you are doing, see it anew, with beginners eyes and celebrate all that today has to give.

As I embrace the new relationship and wonderful partnership with Sam, I am aware that I sometime expect him to react to things based on my own past traumatic relationships. Thankfully, that never happens! I need to be sure I don’t create negativity by expecting negativity.
really thoughtful insight Pamela — always consider the source, not the past. I am looking forward to seeing you and meeting this amazing gentleman!
Time to concentrate fully on the moment that is here now. I have great opportunities that deserve my full present attention. By making the most of these moments the future will take care of itself and the past will just be experiences.
I look forward to restarting my exercise regime a new opportunity to get back in good physical shape and also to get out in front of all those who wait for January 1st.
