My Challenge Today:
Do it right …
By Bernadette Kathryn, LMT, IHLC
If you don’t have time to do it right,
when will you have time to do it over?
~ John Wooden
Do it right — it is so much easier to do it right the first time than to do it over… don’t ya think? This is one of those things that I have a tendency to get stuck on. With our world moving so fast, so many things happening at once and we want to be a part of as many aspects as we can to feel invigorated ~ it only makes sense to do it right the first time. The old adage “measure twice, cut once” is my general motivating factor.
This is absolutely not to say — that I don’t make mistake, I do — I definitely do. And, I strive to learn from those mistakes and correct them as soon as possible to ensure that I can maximize my experiences. Do it right the first time so I don’t have to do it again. Again, this obviously refers to simple things that are not completely foreign to us such as cooking a meal we have done before … getting distracted and messing the meal up will cause you to either ruin it and thus not only waste your time but also the money for the ingredients. Or, you have a less than stellar meal experience and are left wanting something else, which might blow your food plan for the day. While wasting time and money would be unfortunate although not the end of the world — let’s keep it all in perspective! We do want to do our best to keep on track with our Living Fit Lifestyle plan and eat fabulous food is a key ingredient to our success.
Do it right the first time is an attitude that saves time and money. As we are here working to build a Living Fit Lifestyle with more supportive health habits, working more consciously and deliberately are habits that will support your success with more pleasure, confidence, and self-esteem. I feel good when I am successful in my endeavors ~ I enjoy learning new things!
