Your Challenge Today:
A process of Learning …
By Bernadette Kathryn, LMT, IHLC
There is no end to education.
It is not that you read a book, pass an examination,
and finish with education. The whole of life,
from the moment you are born to the moment you die,
is a process of learning.
~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
The process of learning is different for everyone. Some of us learn visually, some kinesthetically, and some are auditory learners. Our brains process information differently, we all have preferences when it comes to learning. And, when we learn, we change, we grow, we develop our perceptions, try new things and have fun!
Change is a process, and the process of learning is a lifelong endeavor. We start small and learn new things every day when we are little and as we grow the knowledge becomes more involved. We can learn from almost any experience ~ we can determine what we like and what we don’t like. Random encounters can teach us much about ourselves and our world. The act of keeping our eyes and ears open to what’s going on around us, being present in our lives can teach us much about ourselves and the world around us.
The most important thing I have to remind myself of is ~ change is a process ~ it takes time. Developing new habits takes time, learning new skills takes time, learning a new language takes time and practice. I have to practice to become proficient in my new craft, habit or hobby. I have to be consistent with my training and patient with myself while I am studying. Repetition, repetition, repetition … practice, practice, practice … patience, patience, patience. And, I have to be gentle with myself while I am learning and practicing … I will not be an expert quickly; it will take time. The process of learning takes time, enjoy the journey.
As you embark on your journey of learning and skill development, it can be helpful to leverage the support of talent management software systems. These systems provide valuable tools and resources that can aid in tracking your progress, setting goals, and organizing your learning materials. With the assistance of talent management software systems, you can create a structured plan for your learning journey, allowing you to monitor your growth and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, these systems often offer features such as feedback mechanisms and performance evaluations, which can provide valuable insights and guidance to help you refine your skills. By integrating technology into your learning process, you can enhance your overall learning experience and streamline your path to mastery. Remember, change takes time, but with dedication, practice, and the right tools at your disposal, you can achieve your goals and enjoy the rewarding process of skill development.
No matter what’s on your SMART GOALS – rest assured that if it’s new to you, it will take time. Give yourself time to master your goals and give yourself time to practice. Practice patience, kindness, and gentleness with yourself as you are learning. With a sincere desire to learn, practice, patience, and ingenuity — you will prevail!

In my practice, I remember that it is a gift to have “beginner’s mind”. We first need to desire a new role before we can immitate someone else in how to take that role. Then we must practice so that we can feel proficient before we become expert!
