My Challenge Today:

More real moments …

By Bernadette Kathryn, LMT, IHLC

The more connections you and your lover make,

not just between your bodies,

but between your minds, your hearts, and your souls,

the more you will strengthen the fabric of your relationship,

and the more real moments you will experience together.

~ Barbara de Angelis

Real moments in life are created by real people sharing intimacy, freely flowing feelings, being vulnerable and trusting. It takes a lot of courage to allow ourselves to be vulnerable and be truly seen by another. It takes courage to speak our truth and be willing to work with another human being that we love and respect, especially in times of conflict. When we share our hearts, our minds and our souls with others in our lives ~ we are validating our own spirt and expanding our life. We are not here on this earth to agree with everyone, it is not reasonable to expect to agree with our loved ones all the time and yet we do owe ourselves the freedom to disagree respectfully. We owe it to ourselves to be responsible in our communications with our loved ones and keep the lines open and clear ~ creating the intimacy that will support a healthy relationship.

Real moments in life are about sharing …

  • closeness
  • togetherness
  • affinity
  • rapport
  • attachment
  • familiarity
  • friendliness
  • friendship
  • amity
  • affection
  • warmth
  • confidence

We are unique and it’s our duty to ourself to respect our peculiar uniqueness, embrace it and celebrate it. I believe that when we are strong and secure in our own skin, loving ourselves in all of our imperfections, we are in the best possible place to create real moments with those we love. The more real moments that we experience together, the more real life we have to enjoy! We are all in this together and we need each other for support in good times and bad ~ let’s embrace our friends and lovers in appreciation, respect and joy. Let’s give and receive support to grow as individuals and shine our light as bright as possible.
