Your Challenge Today:
Show People You Care
By Bernadette Kathryn, LMT, IHLC
I follow three rules:
Do the right thing,
do the best you can,
and always show people you care.
~ Lou Holtz
Do the right thing, do the best you can and always show people you care. These are noble quests, and all we can do is our best for the people we love; the time is forever right to do the right thing. It is in our best interest to honor our values and standards in all of our daily choices. The right to choose is a sacred privilege, and it’s up to us to use that gift to make the most of our life, endeavors, and talents. When we are honoring our values, we are putting yourself in place to succeed with our SMART GOALS.
Caring and sharing is the basis of all your success in this game and your Living Fit Lifestyle. Sometimes we might feel like we are alone in our quest for better health, we may want to isolate ourselves with our challenges and yet ~ we have to admit that nothing in this world ever happens without the help of others. We are meant to be in community with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.
A sense of community has many benefits for the group as a whole and the individuals that make up the population. The members that come together in society have …
- A sense of belonging to something bigger than themselves
- A place to give and receive support, sharing of talents
- A more significant influence that one would have alone
- An opportunity to learn from others in the group
- The benefit of the group knowledge and generosity of sharing

Well, I believe that we all want validation, understanding and love as well as reachinging our “highest selves” in our professional lives. To me, they are all necessary to work together. I believe that if we all mind our need for validation by giving it to others, and sometimes for asking for it, it will come back to us. I also believe that to be true about love. Understanding is sometimes recieved by giving, but that takes more practice and sometimes we encounter others that are not yet able to “get us”. Thankfully there are enough people so I can find enough who do understand me. But I know that it is my responsiblility to create that loving, validating, understanding energy so that it does come back to me. And it does!
well said Pamela — thank you!
