Think of all the beauty around you ~ take a moment to celebrate the beauty of your world today!
An important concept in Mindfulness is “beginners mind”. It refers to having an attitude of openness, and lack of preconceptions when observing a subject, even when studying at an advanced level, just as a beginner in that subject would do. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities and in the expert’s mind, there are few.
Living with “I know” is a handicap in life that keeps us out of the present moment, and living in the past. “I know” doesn’t allow us room for new experiences, surprises, insights, and discoveries. When you always “know” you remain frozen in your judgments of the past and unable to experience the mysteries of now!

when i try to clear my mind and “hyper-focus” i feel in the zone. this is what beginners mind means to me.
Everything is always different if I stay tuned into my body experience. There are so many variables when I am fully present, patients I’ve seen for years may be working on the same issues, but our co-experience is different each time if I am present. It requires me to slow down, tune in and be open.
