My vision is living each day as if it really counts, with intention and attention. I want to live as long and as healthy as I can without medications. I also want to live with self compassion and compassion for others. Mindfulness meditation, exercise and eating real food, is my main focus for this game called
“my life”.
Yea, DEBBIE!!! Good for you!
The mindfulness meditation practice is being successfully utilized for pain management for many years — I encourage you to stay with that practice and if you have the time and inclination, you should consider taking a Mindfulness Meditation class specifically for pain management, I think that would be a very helpful resource for you.
my vision of personal health seems to change week by week. i can feel strong, energetic and relatively pain free one week- only to be crippled with pain the next. i can have a good month followed by a bad month. i evaluate my health on a daily basis and adjust my plan to fit my needs.
my enemy is feeling sorry for myself. however i feel physically, i try to get my mind off the negatives and do the best i can.
my smart goal is to have a positive outlook.
Nice Lee — You are so Right On!! Planning is essential and planning your indulgences is a great way to monitor your fitness — thank you for sharing!
For me Health and fitness are tied together and mean being strong and well. It means getting sick less, having more energy and being present. A good lifestyle balances the enjoyment of work and family with the stresses that come along.
Like Lee, planning is key, but I also need the support of a community such as this one to stay on track. Otherwise, I tend to drift off and not realize how much time has passed. That said, I have maintained some of the habits from prior sessions of the game, such as drinking water. And I rarely drink diet soda or use any artificial sweetener anymore.
Health for me is a feeling of energy and freedom, the capacity to do everything I want to do easily and without pain. I move toward this by daily exercise (at least 30 mins) eating in way that supports both my weight and my desire to for flavor.
What is important for me to keep on this track is consistency and accountability to my self. Lose the the excuses and focus on the target. Eyes on the prize!
Healthy food choices, not feeling overindulgent, drinking water throughout the day, having a relatively flat stomach and reasonably lean body by regularly exercising is my personal picture of health. The Game really helps me stay focused.
the most necessary thing for me to reach my goals is PLANNING. thinking about the points of the game has enabled me to plan the week ahead and choose when I will indulge and when I will have will power. It makes BOTH seem more enjoyable.
