Your Weekly Challenge:
Try something new!
By Bernadette Kathryn, LMT, IHLC
Move out of your comfort zone.
You can only grow if you are willing to feel awkward
and uncomfortable when you try something new.
~ Brian Tracy
One of the best exercises for you is to create your bucket list ~ the 100:
100 things you want to DO
100 things you want to HAVE
This is a longevity plan, it helps stimulate other reasons for us to get fit and stay healthy ~ it helps us move out of our comfort zone and into a place of excitement that arouses a deep desire for life, vitality and pleasure!
When we sit down and make a list of all the things that we want to BE in our lifetime — it gives us something fun to work on. This type of exercise helps us move out of our comfort zone and into a place of excitement! Let’s say you want to be — a dancer, singer, musician, painter, mother, father, artist, scuba diver, runner, teacher, good neighbor, intellectual, insightful, dependable…. you get the idea. It’s how you want to see yourself and your life.
You want to DO – travel the world one beach at a time, travel the world one mountain at a time, go to every state in the union, run a marathon, run a marathon on every continent, go backstage and see your favorite band in person, participate in a tri-athlon, build your dream home, drive a race car, dance at your children’s wedding, move to another country, learn to sail, take a second honeymoon… you decide, create a list of fun reasons to stay healthy and give yourself something to live vibrantly for, something more than the exercise.
100 things to HAVE — you always wanted to own a lake home, beach home, a gorgeous necklace that will fall in just the right spot on your chest, a home gym, sauna, your own airplane, a porsche, a farm, a garden, boat — whatever you want — where does your imagination take you?
When you think of your life as whole, healthy and complete …
- Who are you with?
- What are you doing?
- When do you see this vision as happening?
- Where are you?
- Why have you chosen this vision?
- How are you feeling?
How do your actions today move you closer to your life’s goals?

I have always wanted to return to Alaska — Glacier Bay sea kayaking, specifically.
The two things most prominent on my challenge list are attending a 5 day
meditation retreat and spending a week in Paris with my own agenda at my own pace.
this list will take much contemplation. primarily i wish to be healthy, pain free, happy and peaceful. it is a work in progress. i have been so many places and done so many things i’d like most of all like to stay home and enjoy what we have created.
i have so many material things that i do not have much on the list of what do i want to have. i’m ready to relax and just enjoy.
