Note to self:

Life in your years …

By Bernadette Kathryn, LMT, IHLC

In the end,

it’s not the years in your life that count.

It’s the life in your years.

~ Abraham Lincoln

Life in your years

It’s not the years in your life that count, but the life in your years! That specific statement hits close to home for me right now. I have been going through some significant changes in my life over the past months and recent years. These changes have been generously provided for me by the universe and were not on my to-do list. Therefore, I have been hesitant and slow to pick up the pieces and move forward with joy; I have been avoiding myself and these changes.

Four agreements

I have been working hard to make sense of the senseless behavior of others and not take things personally. I am reminded of the Four Agreements — one of which is ‘don’t take things personally’. My mission is to learn what I can from these experiences and to move forward with dignity and my new knowledge. Honestly, it’s been a struggle and I am finally beginning to see the light, thank goodness.

An opportunity to learn

We all go through times in our lives that are challenging, disappointing and sometimes even painful. It’s an opportunity to learn perseverance and practice patience and forgiveness.
