Your Challenge Today:
Define what you want from this 28 day challenge?
By Bernadette Kathryn, LMT, IHLC
A dream doesn’t become reality through magic;
it takes sweat, determination and hard work.
~ Colin Powell
- What type of health do you want, can you define it?
- Do you want to lower your blood pressure, lower cholesterol, lose weight?
- Do you want to reduce your BMI? Lose inches?
- Do you want to lower your body fat %?
- What type of physique you want, strong, lean, limber?
- Are you a mesomorph, ectomorph or endomorph?
- Do you know?
- What type of energy & recovery do you want?
- Are you recovering from injuries?
- Do you need to improve your energy level?
- Do you get enough quality sleep?
Take a moment and think about these three things.
Definitions help us with clarity …
Declarations help us to focus …
Determination helps us move forward toward our goals …
But don’t just think about them. Write down your answers.
Now that you’ve recorded what you want, let’s go one step further.
-
- Does your lifestyle reflect your health goals?
- Do you eat and exercise according to what you want?
- Are you getting enough restorative sleep each night?
- Do you drink enough pure water every day?
- Do you let those you love know how much you appreciate them every day?
- How do you take time to reflect and direct yourself each day?
- Do you have a healthy support system that you can count on when you need?

What I want from this 28 day challenge is to consistently pay attention to my goals of eating healthy, not snacking, and not eating after dinner, so that I can lose weight and get my cholesterol in a favorable range – below 200! I think I need to create a better support system to achieve this more easily. Another goal is to bring mindfulness practices into my everyday life activities. For me this means being open to seeing what is, not what I want it to be. This may lead to less internal struggle and rumination and more calm. I think this is a “going beyond” “, since it will take more than 28 days.
From Debbie — my new “going beyond” is that i am on a new path of growth. i had an unexpected turn the other day and i find myself looking for guidance and a new form of help. i will meet with a new practitioner today. i am seeking inner strength, self confidence and calmness in my life.
