quit talking and begin doing.

Now is the time to get started ~ get moving, get fit and have more fun! A fit healthy body is a great way to enjoy all the things in your life from playing with the kids, keeping up at work, enjoying an active vacation or a lively romp around the bedroom. It all feels better with body confidence, and the cost of that belief is time, sweat and energy expenditure. We have to invest in our fitness and wellness with all the basics — proper food, water, sleep, exercise and an attitude adjustment!
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I just don’t want to – it doesn’t matter how good it is for me or how much I will benefit, I just don’t want to! Does that ever happen to you?
I don’t want to cook, clean or exercise … I want to be lazy, order in dinner and sit on the sofa watching my favorite TV shows in guilty pleasure. It happens, and sometimes I go with the feeling and take the ‘day off’ of the plan and then sometimes, I have to kick myself in the butt and get moving. I usually feel better when it’s over, a hot sweaty mess, a sense of accomplishment and a little pride.
I developed a habit of making ‘deals’ with myself a long time ago, especially in the beginning of any new routine. I would bargain with myself to create the motivation I needed to accomplish the goal. I might agree to exercise if I can have 20 minutes in the sauna later or I couldn’t go into the sauna until I did the exercise. Whatever works to get the job done and eventually the bargaining would cease, and the habit would stick. It was not an overnight fix; some experts say it takes three weeks to create a new practice – so give yourself some time with your new goals and plan some rewards to keep you going.
What can you do to reward yourself
for a job well-done?

My team mate, Debbie had a great idea over a year ago regarding getting the water requirement in every day: make sure you drink your first liter before Noon! This always works when I do it… I haven’t been so good lately. I need to try again.
my reward is to sit down with a cup of hot tea with the kitties and maybe doze off. take some deep breaths quiet my mind.
My reward is being able to fit into clothes comfortably, with no marks left on my skin, or hanging parts. It’s funny but true.
I am a movie junkie, so that might be a great reward/motivator. Such as no movies until I have exercised 5 times… and by exercise I mean a trip to the gym for at least 30 minutes, either cardio or weights (in addition to my daily walking).
