Learn as if you were to live forever…

Live as if you were to die tomorrow…
Learn as if you were to live forever…
~ Mahatma Gandhi
Live as if you were to die tomorrow … that is a powerful statement. What would I do differently today if I knew I was going to die tomorrow? I know I would be kinder, gentler, happier, and more loving. I wouldn’t waste my time being angry or impatient, arguing over non-sense and un-important BS. I would want everyone I love and care for to know how much I love them, how important they are to me. I wouldn’t want their last memory of me to be difficult or bitter. I would want to celebrate my life and theirs.
Learn as if you were to live forever … that too is a powerful concept. Take time to soak up all the knowledge I can, feed my soul with all the subjects of interest, read, travel, and explore. Checking things off my list …

i was aware my aging dog was suffering and the medicines could only help so much. during these past months i have spent hours with him each day being aware that he would not have much time left with us. on his last day we had our morning ritual of a brushing session in my lap which he seemed to enjoy very much. i miss him very much but, i followed the words of advice, live as if today is the last day.
I want to have a loving partnership with my ideal mate (check), I want to continue to serve others, earn my own living, travel more, feel good in my body, continue to learn how to feel good in my body, help Sam with his physical issues, connect to people who are available to me.
