In order to carry a positive action

we must develop here a positive vision.

What is the positive vision that will carry you through the journey to realizing your goal?

Having a positive vision of your desired outcome is a great way to add steam to your plan, fuel to your fire and put a tiger in your tank!

Have you ever created a vision board? It’s a little bit like being a kid again! A vision board is a collage of images and affirmations of your goals and things that make you happy. It is sometimes called a treasure map, whatever you want to call it visualizing your goal is a powerful exercise and can serve as a source of motivation as you work toward your objective and lifestyle changes. Creating a vision board can be a useful tool to help you ‘see’ your goals and stimulate the ‘feeling’ of accomplishment which is vital to your success.

It’s a great idea to set aside regular time to review, revise and renew our goals regularly so that we won’t look back on our lives with regret. We need to identify our goals and aspirations in as much detail as possible, and to then come up with a plan with final steps for achieving our objectives. Creating a vision board can be one way to help us with this vital task, and it’s a fun activity that you can do with a group with friends, with your significant other and or with your colleagues at work to brainstorm a big event.

Pick a theme for your board ~ it can be anything, your whole life, your love life, your travel life, your social life, your family, work, community ~ you name it, it’s your vision!

Gather a bunch of magazines, catalogs, photographs and other printed media to support your college. It’s important that whatever you choose to add to your Vision Board be something that makes your heart sing! It’s yours; it is supposed to tickle you, lift you and move you to a place of pleasure and excitement to be in your life. This board is a representation that you have achieved your goal ~ so choose images that show you in your new environment, experience, life. Now, don’t take me literally ~ these pictures will not actually show ‘you’ they represent what you will be feeling and experiencing having achieved your goal.

Let’s say you are planning a wedding, that’s fun! You could use the vision board to represent the marriage. Choose pictures of the location, season, flowers that you love, the invitation, the guest list, dresses, and tux that you like and think you would like to wear on your special day, rings, bouquets, anything that you want to include for your event. Show a table setting, plate of food, people having fun, dancing and happy pictures of you and your intended. Use this board to create excitement and an opportunity to ensure that you cover all the details successfully. It’s a great way to visualize your goal and support your success.

This type of project is used in many businesses to represent essential aspects such as real estate development – models are made to serve vital projects. Decorators use vision boards to show all the elements that will go into the design of a new space – illustrating how each finish will work with the others in color and texture. How can you adopt this type of exercise to bring more life to your projects, your home, your family fun, your career?
