The Objectives of this game are simple:

The Living Fit Game is intended to give you a motivational boost and support to reach your wellness goals! It does not serve as a weight-loss or fitness program. We aim to make it fun for you to lose weight by engaging in a game of social-wellness with your friends and family. And, since we don’t know you personally (and even if we did) we can’t advise you properly on how to lose weight. The objective of the game is to support you in your quest to improve your overall health and wellness by making sensible, sustainable lifestyle changes on a daily basis.

Quick weight loss methods aren’t sufficient to achieve lasting results. Weight loss methods that rely on diet aids like drinks, prepackaged foods, or diet pills don’t work in the long run. Although the Living Fit Game may be a catalyst for changing your habits, the most important changes are long term. No matter how much (or little) weight you have to lose, modest goals and a slow course will increase your chances of both losing the weight and keeping it off. Don’t do dumb things to lose weight!

This is a game of Social Wellness:

Note that we may recommend certain approaches and products from time to time on our site and in our emails but you should consult a professional before acting on our advice. Everything that we suggest is optional. Each individual must assess the best choices for themselves. Certain exercises are better for some and not appropriate for others ~ as are food choices. Make your personal decisions wisely and you will ultimately benefit from leading a clean, living fit lifestyle!

Allow the Unexpected

You have to take risks. We will only understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to happen. ~ Paulo Coelho

An updated, completely fresh and sanctioned version of that old classic!

We Laugh

We don't laugh because we're happy - we're happy because we laugh. ~ William James

I don't think being an athlete is unfeminine. I think of it as a kind of grace. ~ Jackie Joyner-Kersee

Always Your Choice

Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice. ~ Wayne Dyer

Flourless Chocolate Cake

I hope if you like chocolate, you will try this little gem -- one of my all time favorites.

Nicoise Salad

I think you can put what ever ingredient you like into any salad, that's what is fun for me in the kitchen. There are rules and rules are meant to be broken sometimes.

Tomato, Squash Gratin

This summer gratin is a great example of utilizing the farmers market and adding some great color, taste and healthy vegetables to your table.

Achieving Your Goals

What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals. ~ Henry David Thoreau

Grilled Chicken Mustard Sauce

I know what you might be thinking ~ gravy, sauce? Isn't that too much fat? Well, let me tell you! This sauce is so delicious, if you love mustard like I do.

Week 1 – Pick 3

Now is the time to have a real sit-down with ourselves and our internal posse, and come up with our smarter goals for this game and our healthy lifestyle.

Roasted Carrot Apple Soup

Another YUM for you! Roast your carrots, apples and onions before adding to the classic bone broth to deepen the flavor and enhance the caramelization of the vegetables.

Pavlova and Berry Compote

How about a crispy meringue layer cake, stuffed with blackberry and dried cherry compote and gussied up with coconut whipped cream? It could be sanctioned, if you either left off the coconut whipped cream or seriously limited it ... your choice! Either way ~ it's a gorgeous cake with lots of great flavor and fun, won't last long!

Tropical Fruit Salad

Tropical Fruit Salad is a great way to enjoy the sweetness of fruit and have a beautiful dessert after a perfectly sanctioned meal! I made this one a little extra special by taking some extra time and cutting the fruit into an unusual presentation. It was fun and made for a much more elegant dessert.

Caramelized Onions

Caramelized Onions are an amazing element to many dishes. They can be eaten as a side dish all by themselves or used as an important component in a more substantial dish, like Onion Soup or as a base for the gravy that is used for the Salisbury Steak.

Exercise Menopause Connection

The good news is that exercise can help. Maria Luque, PhD, MS, CHES, and ACE-certified personal trainer and health sciences professor at Trident University International, explores how exercise impacts menopausal women.
