The Objectives of this game are simple:

The Living Fit Game is intended to give you a motivational boost and support to reach your wellness goals! It does not serve as a weight-loss or fitness program. We aim to make it fun for you to lose weight by engaging in a game of social-wellness with your friends and family. And, since we don’t know you personally (and even if we did) we can’t advise you properly on how to lose weight. The objective of the game is to support you in your quest to improve your overall health and wellness by making sensible, sustainable lifestyle changes on a daily basis.

Quick weight loss methods aren’t sufficient to achieve lasting results. Weight loss methods that rely on diet aids like drinks, prepackaged foods, or diet pills don’t work in the long run. Although the Living Fit Game may be a catalyst for changing your habits, the most important changes are long term. No matter how much (or little) weight you have to lose, modest goals and a slow course will increase your chances of both losing the weight and keeping it off. Don’t do dumb things to lose weight!

This is a game of Social Wellness:

Note that we may recommend certain approaches and products from time to time on our site and in our emails but you should consult a professional before acting on our advice. Everything that we suggest is optional. Each individual must assess the best choices for themselves. Certain exercises are better for some and not appropriate for others ~ as are food choices. Make your personal decisions wisely and you will ultimately benefit from leading a clean, living fit lifestyle!

Coconut Chocolate Ice Cream

How much do you love ice cream, chocolate ice cream but cannot eat dairy? I do, I love chocolate and ice cream ... and it is probably better for me to not have dairy. Coconut milk is a great alternative to dairy, it's rich, creamy and velvety when made into an ice cream!

"If love is the treasure, laughter is the key" ~ Yakov Smirno

Think of All the Beauty

Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy. ~ Anne Frank

Now is the Best Time of the Year

Health is the thing that makes you feel that now is the best time of the year. ~ Franklin Pierce Adams

Chicken Taco Salad

I love Mexican food! Growing up in Texas I developed a deep desire for spicy food and still have it. I decided to forgo the tortilla and chips while maintaining the taste that I love so much in a effort to stay true to my Living Fit Lifestyle ~ and my waistline!

Chicken and Veal Meatloaf

You may have noticed that I love meatloaf, meatballs, burgers ~ sounds a bit like comfort food, huh? That's probably from growing up in the South.

From Your Own Actions

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. ~ Dalai Lama

Stepping Stones

The past is a stepping stone, not a millstone. Robert Plant

Asparagus & Artichoke Quiche

By Bernadette Kathryn, LMT, IHLC Almond Meal makes a tasty gluten free crust and an excellent pastry for a change of pace. Add in your favorite vegetables, some egg or egg-whites a little cheese if you prefer and bake! When it comes out of the oven, let it rest for a bit and then enjoy with a side salad for an elegant brunch option or easy lunch.

Week 5 ~ Be Focused on Achieving

The secret to accomplishing what matters most to you is committing your goals to writing, review the list often and revise your strategy as you move along. This is important for several reasons.

Hooping and Hoop Dancing

Fun playful way to workout which adds variety to your routine ~ bonus! Hooping has been taken to a new level, it will strengthen the core, improve your balance, and is a great aerobic workout when performed for an extended period of time.

A Series of Small Things

"Great things are done by a series of small things brought together" ~ Vincent Van Gogh

Chicken Marsala

This Living Fit Lifestyle version of Chicken Marsala is made without using the flour ~ since I am gluten free and the flour would not be good for me, I omit it completely.  I thicken the gravy by using my VitaMix blender to puree some of the onion which gives the sauce a little body.

Do One Thing

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear. ~ Nelson Mandela

Coconut Chocolate Candy

It may look like a daunting task, difficult and completely unnecessary, considering the fact that you can purchase any kind of candy imaginable at most corner stores.

Chicken with Lemon and Garlic

This is a gorgeous meal that can be made with chicken or turkey! You get to choose.

Flames of Achievement

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement. Golda Meir

The Courage to Press ON

All you need is the plan, the road map, and the courage to press on to your destination. Earl Nightingale

Grilled Steak and Salad

A good quality grilled steak and salad is an excellent choice for a Sanctioned Meal ~ it doesn't always have to be chicken or fish you know?

Chipotle Burger

This is great to eat with a bowl of soup or on a whole grain bun with arugula and chipotle mayo!

Remember Moments

We do not remember days, we remember moments. Cesare Pavese

Coconut Mango Rice Pilaf

When you are eating a hot dish such as a jerk marinade, you need a cooling dish to counter the heat. I like coconut rice with a sweet element like the mango, I dressed with with a lime vinaigrette ~ it was just the right amount of sweet, tang and crunch to go with the fish.

One Step

The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Lao Tzu

High Reps, Light Weights

When you look at people who are successful, you will find that they aren't the people who are motivated, but have consistency in their motivation. ~ Arsene Wenger

Week 4 – Create a Habit

Creation of our Story

Every human is an artist. And this is the main art that we have: the creation of our story. ~ Miguel Angel Ruiz

Light Lasagna

I like to make individual lasagnas in mini bread pans and use only one noodle per lasagna, which is 1/3 of a ‘normal’ serving. I supercharge my lasagna by adding lots of vegetables and herbs to give it additional flavor and a nutritional boost from the added vegetables!

Kindness

This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. ~ Dalai Lama

Chicken Apple Curry

If you love the warming spice of curry and a slightly sweet taste of stewed apples and cinnamon, you will love this dish as much as I do.  I serve it with roasted cauliflower to keep this dish fully sanctioned and Paleo perfect!  If you prefer to add some starch to your meal plan, you can add brown rice and the meal will be more substantial.

Sausage Mushroom Ricotta Sauce

Pure comfort food here and if you are able to control your portion, it can be sanctioned too!
